About

Hello everyone!

If you accidentally clicked About for some unknown circumstances, I hope you will have some time reading this. This may appear like Frequently Asked Question portion but no one actually asked these questions (laughs) so I decided to ask myself these questions as if someone bothered asking me.

Let me tackle the following questions below:

What is Girl Group Trash?
Girl Group Trash is a blog aiming to translate and to share articles, comments and news about K-pop girl groups, I'm interested at, that were written in Korean.

The blog title is quite simple really, because I'm a girl group trash so don't expect me to translate stuffs about male groups.

Why create GGT?
Firstly, I created this blog is to translate and to share articles, comments and news about K-pop girl groups that were written in Korean.

Secondly, I aim to spread positive views about girl groups (that I like) so don't expect me to translate negative stuffs about them.

There are other websites dedicated to translating K-pop news like Soompi, Allkpop and NetizenBuzz, but why still create Girl Group Trash?

I am not trying to compete with them I just want to do my part for these girl groups. So when an article was already posted by these websites I will try not to make my own post unless I want to add something else that was/were not mentioned in their posts.

I also post my translations to One Hallyu if I want to for the hope to promote my blog of course (laughs).

Do you accept translations from other translators?
I will if someone is willing as long as it is about K-pop girl groups.

Who/Where are your sources?
Usually I get articles from Instiz, Entertainment Naver, News Naver and TVCast Naver.

Why not get your sources from Pann/Nate?
Please take note that I am not trying to defame Pann/Nate community. There are also good users in Pann/Nate so the moment a "positive" Pann/Nate girl group content was released and wasn't posted yet in other translation sites, I will try my hardest to translate the post for the International fans.

Secondly, since the contents were mainly maintained mostly by ordinary netizens, the words used in Pann/Nate were most of the time different as those words used in Naver. Thus the contents and comments are filled with slang of the Korean netizens that I am not aware of.

Of course the desire to translate them is there but if I decided to continue translating them it would eat up my whole time figuring out the meaning of each slang words used in the article/comments.

I hope I was able to impress these things to you. If I think I want to add some more, further edits shall be made onto this page.

If you wish to translate my translations to other language please feel free to do so. Just be reminded to give credit to your sources (both mine and to my sources).
